Two years after graduating from SFSU and landing a job with Clear Channel, Ray joined the Armstrong & Getty Show in 2003 at San Francisco affiliate station KNEW. He's been "Entormned" ever since.
If he isn't pushing buttons, flipping toggles, pulling levers, and editing hours of audio for podcast, you can probably find Ray sitting behind the wheel of his Subaru Impreza WRX. When not fantasizing about being a World Rally driver, Ray spends time with his lovely girlfriend. Other hobbies include golf, wakeboarding, fishing, going to bars, and wasting too many hours playing video games.

SCOTT THE WHITE HOOTIE DOWNEY JR.: Executive Producer
Scott has been with A&G since 1999, joining the show after graduating from CSU, Sacramento with a BA in public relations. Scott cut his teeth on the show by riding in the back of Jack's truck through a car wash and cleaning up puke from a candy corn eating contest gone array. He also developed classic A&G show's such as "Shoot Osama" and the "A&G Sex Worker Panel."
When not researching for nuggets on the internets and bookstores, he can be found at home with his head in the oven... it relaxes him.

Marshall Phillips: News Anchor
I was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Southern California. As a teenager I managed some bands and produced some records, with marginal success. One of them, The Jesters was Jim Messina's first band....Loggins and Messina. Went to Fontana High school with Sammy Hager and because of my teenage rep as music mogel he asked me to come over and listen to him play. "Sammy, you're good...very good"
Went to Hollywood Professional School for a time, a half day school for child actors. Got an agent and did a few walk-ons in some movies and TV shows too old to mention.
Majored in theatre and communications at Cal State Fullerton.
Got into radio when I was 17 in Palm Springs at KDES and have been in radio ever since.
Worked all over including KLOS/ABC for 8 years. KMET, KWST and KLSX. The last two of those stations I did news and was Phil Hendries partner.
Worked in the Bay Area at KSAN( part of the last rock and roll crew before they switched to country) KRQR, KTIM, KMOE,KKCY, KFOG and KNBR (12 years probably in total)
11 years at KZZO the Zone...and now I'm over here.
Engaged twice, never married, but I'm still great friends with all my ex-girlfriends but one.
Love dogs, but can't have one since I rent.
Like to bike ride and play tennis but haven't had much of a chance in the last year.
Want to travel more. Loved London...and really want to go to Iceland. That's where I planned to go on honeymoon before it (the engagement not the country) all fell apart.

WHAT I AM READING: I’m plowing through several, right now…I pick ‘em up as the mood strikes me. A couple of them were recommended by Jack, so you may recognize them from his list.
The Looming Tower by Lawrence Wright -- the rise of modern Islamic fundamentalism.
Guns, Germs & Steel by Jared Diamond – ancient history and the differing paths of civilizations.
The World is Flat by Thomas Friedman – when I’m in the mood for economics, which isn’t often, lately.
Sounding Smart at Parties by David Matalon & Chris Woolsey – Fun look at history, science, etc. This is the book co-written by “Chris the Actor”, for long-time listeners.
On Truth by Harry G. Frankfurt – The guy who wrote “On Bullshit” looking at the other side of the coin. Why does the truth matter?
The Impossible H.L. Mencken, edited by Marion Elizabeth Rodgers -- If you’re ever curious about why I idolize Mencken, pick this one up. I’ve read it several times, and will read it many more. His genius with language, his insight and his sharp-edged tongue are perfect. It’s a collection of his best newspaper stories. Enjoy.
WHAT I AM LISTENING TO: To tell the truth, I’ve been so busy writing, recording and playing with my band, The Mighty Josephine, I haven’t been listening to that much new music lately.
But thanks to Jack, Scott, my kids and other friends’ recommendations, I’ve been enjoying The Drive-By Truckers, The Killers and Spoon, in particular. I’m also still in love with “Enjoy Every Sandwich…a tribute to Warren Zevon.” Stunning versions of a great writer’s songs.
I’m also re-discovering the Cracker catalogue…what a great band.
FAVORITE WEBSITES: Nothing too interesting here…all the great newspapers of the USA, liveleak.com, youtube.com, and half.com to get cheap copies of great old albums I want on CD.
I just bought a couple of Marx Brothers’ DVDs (“Duck Soup” and “A Night at the Opera” so Declan (my 12 year-old son) can see them. Classic comedy is considered one of the pillars of education around our house.
In case anybody gives a damn…a couple of my passions include:
Golf: I’m hitting Mizuno MP-32 irons and Mizuno wedges (boy do those wedges spin it, baby), Calloway Heavenwood Hybrids, an old Titleist 3-wood and my trusty Ping G2 driver. My golf buddies tell me that’s Ping’s new Rapture driver is spectacular…don’t tell my wife I mentioned that, please. I’m hoping to sneak one into the bag, some day soon. Oh, yeah…my new putter is an old-schoolish Odyssey “Bob Toski”…love that thing!
Guitar players: My main guitars right now are my new Tom Anderson “Atom” with a couple of humbuckers, my Terry McInturff “Empress” with single coils in the neck and center positions and a humbucker in the bridge position (possibly the best-looking guitar in the world), and my beloved ’53 reissue Fender Telecaster. The Tele looks just like the one on the cover of “Born to Run”, if that helps. Every time I plug it in, I’m reminded of why it’s one of the great guitars, ever. I use my Rickenbacker 360 and my Strat mostly for recording purposes.
I play a Gibson J-100 acoustic, a Tacoma Mandolin and Hohner “Special 20” harmonicas, too.
But, as I often point out…”I’m actually a bass player.” And I play a Fender Jazz Bass with active pickups mostly, although I still break out my baby from time to time: a 1980 Rickenbacker 4001 that I saved my pennies for as a teenager. Good enough for Geddy Lee, Chris Squire, Paul McCartney…good enough for me.
If you have any comments, questions, etc, let me know. I’ll try to get back to you promptly…but as you may have figured out, I’m so busy DOING the above stuff, that I don’t have a lot of time to talk about it.

Cranberry Pake (Pie+Cake)
Crust: Prepare your favorite pie crust to fit a 9-inch pie pan. Place in pan,
flute edges, and leave unbaked.
Cranberry Layer:
2 cups fresh whole
cranberries, rinsed and drained **
½ cup sugar
½ cup chopped pecans
Mix all ingredients and place
in unbaked crust.
Cake Layer:
¾ cup softened butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup flour
Cream together butter and
sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Add flour and mix thoroughly. Dollop the mixture
by spoonfuls over the cranberry layer and smooth the top with a spatula.
Place the pake on a baking sheet to catch drips while baking. Bake for 1 hour at
350 degrees or until the top is golden brown. Serve warm or at room temperature
with ice cream.
**My friend uses the whole package of cranberries, I use about 3 cups.
