Blake Thompson, Senior Producer

Blake Thompson is the senior producer for The Dave Ramsey Show. He manages everything that goes on in the studio and the content that goes out over the air. In other words, he keeps Dave on track!

Broadcasting is in Blake’s blood. After receiving a Broadcasting/Communications Degree from Trevecca Nazarene University, Blake eventually found his way to Dave’s company. Hired in 1996, Blake was the eighth team member Dave brought on board. He has been the producer of the radio show since day one.

But working as Dave Ramsey’s senior producer is more than just a job for Blake. He has totally embraced Dave’s financial principles: “I’m debt free!” Blake says. Besides that, he loves helping others find financial hope through the radio and television shows.

Matt Aaron, Chief Engineer

Matt Aaron is the chief engineer on The Dave Ramsey Show.

His job, as he explains, is to “ensure that which is to be heard is heard.” Matt says this “involves a lot of mouse-clicking with some miscellaneous button-pushing and occasionally using a soldering iron, duct tape, wire ties and The Big Hammer.”

Matt is a key member of Dave’s team. Without his talents, The Dave Ramsey Show could not be heard. He constantly stays updated on new technology, helping the show stay ahead of the curve while improving your listening experience.

Though Matt has been debt-free his entire life, he’s learned a lot from Dave about saving and managing money.

Lara Mayes Johnson, The Amazing One Assistant Producer

Lara Johnson is the assistant producer and phone screener on The Dave Ramsey Show. If you have ever called into the show, then you have talked with Lara.

Dave hired Lara in 1999. She was 22 years old, straight out of Asbury College with a degree in Broadcast Communications. After working as an assistant to one of Dave's VPs, she eventually settled in to the assistant producer position.

Like everyone who works for Dave, Lara has a passion for her job. “I love talking to people and hearing their stories,” she says. “And I love being part of the solution—not just for individuals, but for society as a whole.”
