That Skechers shoe company claimed that by just walking around in their Shape Ups brand shoes would give you an ass like Kim Kardashian shot in Sepia with the camera only showing her backside with strategic diagonal shots (never from straight behind). According to the FTC (aka Federal Trade Commission) Skechers are liars, and must pay them $40 million.
The settlement also involves the company's Resistance Runner, Toners and Tone-ups shoes. The FTC alleges Skechers made deceptive claims about those shoes, too.
The FTC says Skechers falsely represented that clinical studies backed up the company's claims about its toning shoes. (USA Today)
I love how it's "The FTC alleges" and "The FTC says;" you'd think for forcing a company $40 million they would be a little more definitive. It might as well read, the FTC's chairman bought a pair for his wife and her ass is still a complete mess so he's pretty sure they made it up...
